Full Membership
Membership of the Society is open to solicitors who practise, or who have practised previously
within one mile of the Bank of England. On 1st January 2007, the City of London Law Society
formally separated from the City of London Solicitors' Company and for the first time, members can
opt to join just the City of London Law Society. However, for the same fee you can also join the
City of London Solicitors' Company as a Freeman, which entitles you to membership of the City of
London Law Society. As a full member of the Company, you become a Freeman of the City of London
Solicitors' Company and are encouraged to attend an Admission Ceremony. You can also apply to
become a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Company.
